As many International sporting careers come to an end this summer, our list of future Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls continues to grow.

Singleton Track and Field Club member Ethan Williams claimed two silver medals at the 2021 NSW All Schools Athletics Championships in Sydney on the weekend.

The Singleton High School student recorded a time of 27.73 seconds in the 14 Boys 200m Hurdles race to finish behind St Joseph’s College’s Billy Blair (26.27) and in front of Sydney Grammar’s Callum Cheung (28.24).

The same three athletes also claimed the respective medals in the 100m hurdles race.

Blair’s 13.50 result steered him away from Williams (14.16) and Cheung (14.85) but remained shy of the meet record of 13.25 set by Hunter Sports High’s River-Deane Pentecost in 2015.

Earlier on Sunday morning, Hunter Valley Grammar School student Jordie Brown also claimed a silver medal in the 16 Boys 110m hurdles race.

Brown’s time of 14.83 came within a second of the winner Rashid Kabba (14.12) and meet record holder Will Lloyd (13.87) from 2015.

MEANWHILE Muswellbrook Amateur RSL Youth Swimming Club member Porscha Jimmieson competed at the 2021 NSW MC Championships in Sydney on Saturday.

She finished with gold medals in all of her age group categories.
