For the Singleton Greyhounds, the equation is simple.

A win against the Merriwa Magpies will secure their spot in this year’s Group 21 Ladies League Tag grand final.

The Greyhounds advanced to the preliminary final after an impressive 16-0 win against Aberdeen at Muswellbrook on while the Magpies have the double chance after facing a 36-16 major semi final defeat to powerhouse Scone.

Merriwa will enter as favourite following a 14-14 draw in Round 3 and a nail-biting 14-10 Round 9 victory at Pirtek Park.

Yet you can’t underestimate a side with Jules Kirkpatrick only three months after she guided the NSW under-19 origin side to victory.

“Our coaches Stuart Francis and Al Harris told the group that we hadn’t played finals in a few years so it is a big month,” Kirkpatrick explained.

Full back Lily McNamara has been labelled as one to watch due to her speed as has dominant half Emmerson Harris who is one of the best communicators in the league.

Emma Johnston will be the only omission from the side due to netball commitments.

The final will take place 10am this Sunday at Denman.
