Big names eye glory in Muswellbrook

Some of Australia’s biggest golfing names have already been confirmed for next week’s Upper Hunter Open.

Though it is unclear how many have played at the Muswellbrook Golf Club prior to the NSW Open Regional Series event, they will enter the tournament as favourites.

Most notable will be Newcastle’s Nathan Green who played in the 2010 Masters (won by Phil Mickelson) after winning the previous year’s RBC Canadian Open.

Other names include Jordan Zunic and Matthew Millar, ranked 560th and 927th respectively on the PGA Tour.

Zunic, who stands at 196cm tall, has won a Queensland Open (2018), Northern Territory PGA Championship (2016) and New Zealand Open (2015) as well as a Tasmanian Open (2013) as an amateur.

He also finished runner up to Cameron Smith at the 2017 Australian PGA Championship (lost on par on second extra hole).

Millar, who turned professional in 1999, featured at the Open Championship in 2011 and also has a few notable tournament wins to his name.

Other golfers to keep your eye on include 2008 NSW Open winner Aaron Townsend, Lincoln Tighe, Jamie Hook and Brendan Smith.
