Top 20 finish for Garvie

Andrew Garvie has returned home from Western Australia with a top 20 finish at national level.

The popular Singleton shooter finished with a score of 168 at the 44th Sporting Clays Australia national championships held at Geraldton.

He finished 19th overall behind eventual winner Chris Brown (189 points) out of 240 shooters and second in the A-Grade category by five shots behind Dannon Randazzo.

Opening round leader Timothy Widdison, Dan Blackley and Gary Adams finished on equal third in A-grade with a score of 167.

β€œI thought I shot well,” Garvie told The Hunter River Times.

β€œIt was a great week and now there focus will be on Gunnedah for the next event.”
