Green makes an appearance

Not even the heavy rain could deter the vibrant atmosphere at the Singleton Golf Club last Friday.

Crowds gathered for the second annual Harris Electrical and Solar Red Nose Charity Golf Day before making their way indoors to hear from guest speaker Chris Green.

The South African-Australian cricketer spoke about his previous visits to Howe Park as a child, playing tennis before his famous parents Warren and Lisa, before his cricket career took off as a teenager.

The 29-year-old Sydney Thunder star opened up about the highs and lows from his career, facing off against his childhood heroes and serving a 90-day suspension for bowling with an illegal action in 2020.

The group reached their target goal of $14,000 for the charity. A final tally is still to come.
