A man will face court charged over alleged grassfires.

Around 2pm on Friday 11 August 2023, emergency services were called to Rose Point Park, Singleton, in relation to a fire.

Around 2pm yesterday (Saturday 12 August 2023), emergency services were called to another fire at Sewerage Works Lane, Glenridding.

Fire and Rescue NSW and the Rural Fire Service worked together to extinguish both fires.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District attended both locations and established crime scenes.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 23-year-old man at a Hunterview home around 3.30pm yesterday (Saturday 12 August 2023).

He was taken to Singleton Police Station and charged with two counts of intentionally cause fire and be reckless as to it to spread.

He was granted conditional bail to face Singleton Local Court on Thursday 14 September 2023.
