Not all superheroes wear capes.

Similarly, not all of the Maitland Pickers’ success has been a result of their on-field talent.

Both head coach Matt Lantry and his assistant Jye Bayley have praised their new strength and conditioning coach Oliver Moody for his efforts throughout 2020.

Moody, a talented defender for the Singleton Roosters (local AFL), has completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science while currently completing his Masters in High Performance Sport.

“He has done a great job for the whole club and formed a good relationship with the boys which is important for a strength and conditioning coach,” Bayley explained.

“He will tell you he got the job based off of his interview and might say that he sealed the deal with Jimmy (Bradley) coming to Maitland.

“But we both know the truth, that is just his modesty.”
