Scores vary at Howe Park

Six ladies challenged the threatening rain and played three interesting games on Saturday, with Val Smith playing in all three games. Two games went to the ultimate with scores of 7-6.

Betty Price took out the individual score tally with 2 two wins from 2 games followed closely by Colleen McMahon. Tennis player, Heidi Stanford, maintained her winning streak by winning the one game she played on Saturday.

Lois brought her ‘high tech’ mallet to the court on Saturday to make players wonder what croquet mallets will look like in 10 years’ time!

SATURDAY, JULY 25

Betty Price and Colleen McMahon defeated Val Smith and Marie Pease 7-6

Betty Price and Lois Brooker defeated Colleen McMahon and Val Smith 7-6

Val Smith and Heidi Stanford defeated Marie Pease and Lois Brooker 7-2

The previous Saturday was unfortunately followed by a cloudy, cool afternoon, but six croquet stalwarts enjoyed four games of croquet. The scores varied from 7-6 to 7-0.
