An emotional title for James

If there was ever a year that Brendan James was going to secure the B-Grade title of the Singleton Golf Club championships, it was going to be in 2022.

Though he came close as the Day 2 leader in recent years, it was on Sunday night that he dedicated his first club title to his late maternal grandfather Frank Wilson.

“We lost our grandpa in August, he was 98 years old,” James told The Hunter River Times.

“He instilled golf into us.

“I had a chat to him every morning before I tee’d off, I knew he was with me.”

His Queensland based grandfather was a prominent figure at the Blackwater Country Club.
