Youngster Eli Foote honoured his heritage be representing Malta against Lebanon at Belmore.
The Maltese line-up suffered a 50-12 defeat at under-19 level and then a hard fought 40-22 loss at men’s level.
“Of the seventeen men who took the field on Wednesday night, only one is backing up for this match,” Malta’s coach Peter Cassar said on Saturday prior to the match.
“It’s a much younger group who now get an opportunity to pull on this special jersey.”
