Singleton line-up prepares for Cessnock

Singleton will aim for a 2-0 start to the John Bull Shield Competition.

Sunday, November 27 has been set for the second round of the Hunter Valley Region Cricket Council’s representative competition.

Singleton, who celebrated a win over Upper Hunter earlier this month, will take on Coalfields Cup rival Cessnock at East End.

“Batting first, we were in a bit of trouble at 3/18, Mewa Jeetarwal 46 and Jack Turner 22 took us close to 90, then Anthony Bailey 53 batting with the tail got us to post 156 all out,” SDCA’s Daniel Storey reflected.

“Upper Hunter got off to a strong start to be 3/71 at 15 over drinks, second drinks they were 5/117 needing 40 runs, tight bowling and some quick wickets kept UH to 9/127 needing 30 runs with 1 wicket in hand, UH put up a last wicket stand only to fall 12 runs short, all out for 144.”

Players are asked to contact Daniel Storey if they are interested in being considered for selection against Cessnock.
