Get Excited, It’s Showtime

The countdown is on for the Bengalla Upper Hunter Show.

Happening on March 17 and 18, the show is celebrating its 132nd year and what an event it will be.

President of the Show Committee Keith Googe describes what will be a family friendly event with some good country entertainment.

“We’re in a new era since covid and I think this is a great opportunity to come out with friends and family and enjoy what the show has to offer.” Keith said.

This year’s show will see the return of popular acts and events include the crowd-pleaser Demolition Derby, State of Origin style Polo Crosse and the fireworks.

The Upper Hunter Young Woman of the Year awards will also be presented.

There has also been a particular focus on the agricultural and rural aspects of the show, acknowledging the history of this long-standing event.

This will be seen through a display of both old and new farm machinery, all synonymous with the region’s farming heritage.

Show attendees will also see new attractions including the lead act ‘The Crack Up Sisters’, performing comedy sets as they walk around the showground.

The Showground will also be utilizing its new Entertainment Arena as a child-focused area, which will contain the animal nursery, sheep shearing and a variety of other children’s entertainment.

Thomas the Trackless Train will also be making an appearance this year, doing laps and transporting showgoers around the showground.

“The thing that excites me more than anything is the fact that this place is changing and evolving. There’s been a lot of developments here and we’ve come a long way from where we were,” President Keith Googe further explained.

Entry for the show for vehicles and pedestrians will be separate with a new entrance to be made for pedestrians.
