2025 has been a year of kicking goals for Rylan Gray, and he capped it off by winning the Dunlop Super2 Championship in Adelaide.

“I don’t think we had the quickest car the whole weekend, but we managed to put it up the front,” Rylan shared of his qualifying on pole for the first race of the weekend.

“It was a very clean race, and it was good to bring it home in first place as well, we were able to grab a win and the championship in the first one, it was a good feeling to do it a day early.”

Starts have been an issue for Rylan all season, but they got the clutch issues sorted when it mattered which made it easier for the Denman driver to succeed in the final round.

Qualifying for the second race of the weekend had been abandoned, which came as a relief for many drivers due to heavy rain conditions, putting Rylan out of fifth for the second race based off his time in practice a day earlier.

Knowing he had secured the championship already the plan was to go out and have some fun in his final race in the category and with the Tickford Autosports team before stepping into the Supercars Championship next year.

In his second season in Dunlop Super2 the now 19-year-old has had plenty to celebrate, and when asked what stands out, he shared there have been a few highlights.

“It has been a pretty satisfying year, obviously there’s a few things that I wish could have gone better and we would have had a much better year, but it was our goal at the start of the year to get a championship under the belt, and we achieved that,” Rylan told The Hunter River Times.

“Winning the series, that one’s pretty cool, but also the Bathurst win is really cool, that is the one I wanted to get throughout the whole year, but also we had four wins and countless podiums through the year, so it was just an all-around successful time.”

Rylan is now planning his move to Queensland to be closer to his new team for 2026, DJR / Shell V Power Racing, and is looking forward to the challenge that is ahead as he joins the top level of motorsport in Australia.
