Singleton Council general manager Justin Fitzpatrick -Barr has resigned.
His resignation was accepted unanimously at an extraordinary meeting of council tonight (May12).
Justin took up the position of general manager in 2024 and his contribution during the past two years was acknowledged in the minutes including his collaboration with the Singleton bypass among other achievements.
The meeting opened at 6:04pm and went into closed council soon after. This was the only matter on the agenda.
With just councillors in the chamber and all others required to leave, the situation was discussed for just over an hour before the chamber was reopened to hear the resolution.
The resignation was submitted on May 11 and comes into effect on May 15.
Following the meeting Mayor Sue Moore said the recruitment process for a new general manager would begin as soon as possible with Council’s executive director Mel Curtis to take on the role of acting general manager in the interim.
