Singleton Town Band was given special recognition during the Anzac Day Service in Singleton.
The band marks its 145th year this year on September 11, and is one of the oldest, continually playing bands in Australia having formed in 1878.
Singleton Town Band marched those first World War 1 recruits off to war back in 1914 and has performed at every Anzac Day ceremony the town has held.
The band is now a member of the Hunter Regional Bands Association and will be taking part in the Bands in the Park event at Speers Point Park on May 21 where they will play at 12:30pm.
