Motorists are advised of changed overnight traffic conditions from Sunday 20 July on the New England Highway near the Liddell interchange south of Muswellbrook for essential maintenance, including asphalt resurfacing in both directions.
Work will be carried out from 7pm to 4:30am Sunday to Thursday nights from Sunday 20 July to Friday 8 August, weather permitting.
For the safety of workers and motorists, traffic control and a reduced 40 km/h speed limit will be in place through the work area, which is expected to add around five minutes to motorists’ journeys.
Motorists are advised to plan their trip and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Oversize Overmass (OSOM) vehicles more than 3 metres wide and 4.5 metres high will be required to stop before each approach to the bridge and contact traffic controllers on site for assistance to travel through the work site. OSOM operators are encouraged to consider their options and, where possible, delay travel until Friday and Saturday nights, when no work is scheduled.
Variable message boards will provide UHF channel and further information ahead of the scheduled work.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
