Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from next week for essential maintenance work on the Golden Highway, about 10 kilometres east of Merriwa.
Transport for NSW will carry out the work, including cleaning the road culvert as part of ongoing maintenance to ensure its ongoing functionality.
Work will start on Monday 21 July 2025 and is expected to take about three weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Work will be carried out from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday.
There will be one lane closed with stop/slow alternating traffic control and a reduced 40km/h speed limit in place during work hours. Motorists may experience minor delays of up to five minutes.
Wide loads greater than 3.5 metres will be temporarily stopped by traffic control to allow cones or work vehicles to be moved for safe passage. Advance warning signage will be in place for OSOM operators. Contact UHF channel 23 for assistance through the work site.
Motorists are advised to drive to conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
