New Look, Same Great Dubs

It may have a new date and venue, but the 2024 Dubs by the Lake is set to be the same great community event.

Organisers Corrina and Beau Farrell were faced with cancelling this year’s event but were delighted to have the whole community in Jerrys Plains get behind them to bring their show to town.

“It’s just been really good to work with Paul and Kay from Jerry’s, and they’ve come on board full guns blazing and we’ve been able to organize this whole thing just because of them,” Corrina shared of the owners of Jerrys Plains Pub.

“This year will look a little bit different, we don’t have fireworks this year, but they will be back next year, and we don’t have grass events, but we’ve still got limbo, hubcap toss and loads of market stalls, lots of food trucks and the whole Jerrys Plains community behind us, so it’s going to be amazing.”

Dubs by the Lake will be on June 14 to 16 at the Jerrys Plains Campgrounds, with the event taking similar format to previous years.

Friday night will see Volts Wagon enthusiasts from near and far making their way to the Upper Hunter with a band on at the pub.

Saturday morning the group will cruise to Hollydeen Estate for a buffet breakfast and upon returning to the campgrounds the novelty events, with the auction and a band playing into the night.

The show and shine will be on Sunday with heaps of market stalls and food trucks booked to help make it a great day out.

Camping is available by an honesty box system that will help get new amenities blocks at the grounds.

Fundraising at Dubs by the Lake will again go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, with a number of local businesses donating items to be raffled and auctioned for the cause.
