The A-Plus Contracting Hunter Valley Mining Charity Rugby League Day has been rescheduled for 2020.

The annual tournament, originally advertised for October 17 will now take place on Saturday, November 7 at Singleton’s Pirtek Park.

Last year, teams travelled from as far as Lake Macquarie, Mudgee and Narrabri in the spirit of raising funds for the WRHS (Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service).

“In light of the state government’s recent easing of restrictions the organisers are starting to see new arrangements being put in place to accommodate community activities and events including local sporting competitions,” tournament organiser Danny Eather declared.

“In pushing the event back by a few weeks, it’s hoped that we will be able to host the event under even further reduced Coronavirus restrictions.”

The Wambo Wolves currently hold the men’s title after holding off the Bengalla Badgers 13-8 in the 2019 tournament final.
